GRID REF: SD 973 164 Sheet 109 ABILITY CP WIND DIRECTION W -WSW ALTITUDE 1150 ft/ 472m ASL AIRSPACE 3500’ ASL NEAREST TELEPHONE Whitehouse Pub or Littleborough DIRECTIONS Located on the A58 east of Littleborough COMMENTS Hang gliders tend to take off further up the A58 as it is an easier carry and their performance is such that this proves better. Paragliders take of lower down but with a longer walk up as the take off terrain is better. Do not land in any cultivated fields, avoid low flying near livestock, which is free ranging on the moor. Vehicles must be parked completely off the road. Site is closed during lambing season, usually around March to June (see current newsletter or web site for details). Do not attempt to go over the back below 1200ft ATO due to grouse moors that extend for 3 miles downwind. BEWARE
