DIRECTIONS                      

Take the A680 from either Rochdale or Edenfield. If using M66 take

the Ramsbottom turn off then as above. Park on the road opposite the ridge.

COMMENTS

An easy ridge to soar with high XC potential. Both hang gliders and paragliders can take off anywhere. Watch out for wind shear on top landing. Ridge does suffer from high compression, so many pilots choose to take off lower down.  Obvious caution required if you are doing this. Top landing should be done with care in strong winds due curlover/ wind sheer
